Creamy Berry Goodness

I would like you to meet my new favorite recipe.
I'm not even sure what it's called, but I have fallen in love.
My gorgeous and talented cousin/friend, Amy, brought this to a book club date night that we had a few weeks ago and I was sold on the first bite.
It's one of those things that you taste and then say...
What is in this?  This is so good!  How do you make it?
Thank you, Amy, for sharing this recipe and changing my life forever.
Just look at that deliciousness and tell me you don't want a bite right now.
Frozen mixed berries (I used two smaller bags from Walmart)
1 tub Cool Whip*
1 large container of vanilla yogurt (I used Stoneyfield french vanilla)
1 small package of cheesecake pudding mix

Pour berries into a large bowl.  Add the Cool Whip and yogurt and then sprinkle on the pudding mix.  Stir together really well until it's all combined and looks pretty.  Chill before serving.

*I made whipped cream instead of using Cool Whip.  I bought a small carton of whipping cream and whipped it up until it was stiff.  I only sweetened it a little (2 Tbs. of sugar) since the yogurt is sweet.

  2. There are all different recipes for this recipe with basically the same ingredients. I know of them as Strawberry Fluff, if you use strawberries and so on.

  3. My recipe is slightly different:
    1 cup milk
1 pkg - 4 serving size box instant pudding
1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
    1 small container whipped topping

I'm pretty sure the melted white chocolate makes ALL the difference lol. The friend I received the recipe from called it "Russian Mousse".

  4. What if you'd leave out the pudding mix? I'm not sure where to buy it, as I live in Holland and products are slightly different here.. So what would change to the taste/structure if I'd choose not to use that?

    1. This may help you ... I just saw and repinned a recipe for DIY vanilla pudding mix.

  5. I'm not sure how that would change the structure and taste. Try it without and let us know how it turns out!

  6. This was a huge hit with my kids! We whipped up fresh cream because that's what we have on hand, and it was delicious. Making it again for Valentine's Day. Thanks!

  7. By large container of yogurt, how many ounces do you mean? And, the same question for the cool whip...8oz tub or the 16oz tub?

    ReplyDelete
  8. The yogurt is 32 oz. and the cool whip, I'm guessing, is the 8 oz. tub. Not sure though because I use whipping cream instead.

  9. This sounds so wonderful... grew up with something sort of like it... one thing of yogurt.. one of cottage cheese one of cool whip and powdered jello.. then add fresh berries.... kids always just called it Pink Stuff.. which sometimes it was blue and sometimes green depending on the flavor of yogurt and jello... I can not wait to try it with the cheesecake pudding.. sounds perfect!

  10. My family loves this recipe and I make it all the time! To keep it a little healthier, I like to use Light Vanilla yogurt, like Dannon Light & Fit, light Cool Whip (around 12 oz), sugar-free Cheesecake pudding mix, and fresh and frozen berries (depending on what I have on hand). Any way you make it though, it is DELICIOUS!

    1. you do need to be careful with the fat free, diet or sugar free sweet things, those normally contain aspartame which is not good for you! It turns into formaldehyde in your body.

  11. This maybe a stupid question but do you defrost the berries first? And if so how? Iv'e never used frozen berries before. And this looks so yummy I have to try it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Not a stupid question at all. No such thing when it comes to recipes. I get the berries out of the freezer about 15 minutes before I mix it all up so they can soften just a little. That way they have a little juice to add some color.

  13. Hello. I made your yummy recipe tonight for my Mom's Group and it was a hit! I will definitely be making it for my family get-together this coming Sunday. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! :)

  14. You just eat it like it is. It's sort of like a jello salad except without jello and salad. So addicting, so be careful.

    1. You can add some nuts that would make it even better. I'm definitely going to try it very soon.

  15. we make this as a pie - 1 cool whip, 6-8 oz flavored yogurt, 8oz can crushed pineapple, drained; pint of fresh fruit; graham cracker crust. mix everything but the crust together, pour into crust and refrigerate. I'm going to try it with the cheesecake pudding in it and pretend I'm indulging in a little cheesecake with the graham cracker crust :)

  18. Instant or regular pudding and how much whipping cream do you need?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I used instant pudding. I didn't measure the whipping cream but I just used a small carton of it. When it is whipped, I would say it is about 3-4 cups.

  20. Just made this but thought it needed to have a stronger cheesecake flavor, and it seemed there were too many berries proportionally to the other ingredients (maybe my small bags of frozen berries weren't the right size of small . . . ) sooooo, I stirred together two softened packages of cream cheese, another container of cool whip, 1 individual size container of blueberry yogurt, and enough white sugar to make it sweet, and then added it into what I had already mixed together. Delic!!!!!

  21. I just made this and it was great. I'll definitely be making it again. Seems like you could really change this up depending on what yogurt/pudding/fruit you have on hand.

  22. I am from Canada and was wondering what kind of Cheesecake pudding mix is it. I can't seem to find it here. What is the brand name? Hope you are able to help me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The brand I use is Jello pudding. If they don't have it there, I would just use vanilla pudding mix. Good luck!

  24. About how much does it make? Having a pot luck with my class (about 50 people) and want to make sure there's enough for at least half the people!

    ReplyDelete
  25. This makes a pretty big bowl, so I think for a potluck of 50 it would be perfect. Have fun!

  26. Had this someone made and it was sooo good

  27. Made this tonight and it was an overwhelming success! Definitely a keeper.

  29. My mom calls the one she makes a congilled salad. Looks just like this all the kids love it.

  30. I make something similar ... one small container of frozen strawberries (thawed and drained), one small container of strawberry yogurt, one 8 oz. container of Cool Whip and a small handful of miniature marshmallows. Stir all ingredients together and enjoy! It's very addicting!

  31. Found this on pinterest! It was awesome! My kids told my they would give it one million likes! I posted it to my Gluten Free blog and linked back to you.

  32. Could you please tell me what the sizes are for the yogurt and the berries? I want to buy the right size so it turns out right.

Also, how many servings does this make?

You may want to update the information in the recipe since I just shared it and several repinned it.

Thank you for your help, Rachel.

  33. Oh my- I made this tonight and I can't quit thinking about it! I cut up some strawberries and bananas and put in it instead of the frozen fruit. My husband loved it too. This is going to be going on the regular rotation at our house!

  34. Can you make this the night before or will it get weepy?

    ReplyDelete
  35. It doesn't keep very well in the fridge. It starts to get runny.
