Talk about a quick and easy treat.
I got this recipe from a cake-mix cookbook.
I decided to try it out when we went out to the desert the other day with a bunch of fun cousins. They disappeared pretty fast (the bars, not the cousins) so I think they were a success.
1 yellow cake mix 2 eggs 1/3 cup oil 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter 1 cup chocolate chips *Mix all ingredients really well and press into a greased 9x13. Bake at 350 for 17 minutes. |
These were fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI used a butter pecan cake mix instead of the yellow cake mix. Substituted peanut butter chips instead of chocolate chips and used closer to 3/4 cup peanut butter instead of 1/2 cup.
Hi there! These look great and I am going to make them this weekend. Quick question though: I like natural chunky peanut butter. Will the recipe still work with it as it is drier than traditional peanut butters? Shall I supplement a little water or milk to keep the bars moist?

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the chunky peanut butter. I would probably add a little oil if you think the chunky would be too dry. Or maybe use regular peanut butter and throw in some crushed peanuts for extra crunch.
This recipe is a keeper! I used natural crunchy PB and it worked great.
